The county town is the city of Oxford, famous for the University of Oxford. Many do not realise that there is a second university – Oxford Brooks University. The University of Oxford is one of the oldest in the world, being founded in 1096. The city is also renowned for publishing.
Oxfordshire has borders with six other counties, namely Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire and Wiltshire.
